Immediately following the conference, from Wednesday 8th July to Friday 10th July, we will be holding a three-day workshop (theory & practice) on metabolomics for novices interested in the field, at the
School of Biological Sciences
Thomas Building, Building #110
3a Symonds Street
Auckland Central
The workshop will cover all practical aspects of metabolome analysis; from sampling and sample preparation to data mining and data analysis. Practical examples with plants, microorganisms and animal tissue will be used, and the principles of different analytical techniques (gas and liquid chromatography, capillary electrophoresis, mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance) will be discussed and some demonstrated.
(Numbers for this workshop are strictly limited to 25 delegates.)
People lecturing in the workshop include:
Dr Silas Villas-Boas (University of Auckland)
Dr Ute Roessner (University of Melbourne)
Assoc Prof David Greenwood (University of Auckland)
Dr Katya Ruggierio (Bioinformatics Institute NZ, University of Auckland)
Dr Marlon dos Reis (AgResearch Limited)
Dr Geoffrey Lane (AgResearch Limited)
